Website development is standardly paid in two parts. A 50% advance before the start, the rest before launch. That is how local agencies and a regional studio work (Sep 2026). Installments exist, but rarely beyond five. Monthly plans of 12 or more almost no serious developer offers. Before signing, check what you see before the rest.
General website prices are explained in our separate guide. Here we count the payment method. How installments work and where risks hide.
How is website development standardly paid?
The standard is two equal parts. The first follows agreed plans and goals. The second follows finished development. Local agencies charge this way. Packages €250 to €700 (standard offer, Sep 2026). The region holds the same model. Advance 50% at the start, rest before publishing (common practice, Sep 2026). Below 20,900 dinars only 50/50 applies (widespread scheme, Sep 2026).
Two parts protect both sides. The developer never works free. The client never pays everything upfront. That is why 50/50 survived decades. Who asks 100% upfront asks trust without cover. Who offers no advance charges it elsewhere.
What do you see before the remaining payment?
Best practice is a demo link before the rest. The finished site sits on the developer's server. You click, read and request changes. Only after verification does the site move to your domain. That is how tidy local pricelists with €150–990 packages work (Sep 2026). Tidy developers promise regular updates and visual progress tracking.
A demo solves the biggest fear. You pay the rest for something you saw. Not for a promise. Tidy developers promise the same: updates and visual tracking. Our standard matches: preview before the remaining payment. Ask for the demo link before the contract. If none exists, ask why. The answer tells more than the pricelist.
Installments: how many and who offers them?
The most detailed scheme comes from the market. Amounts below 20,900 dinars go 50/50. From 20,900 to 35,000 go up to 3 installments. Advance at least 50%. From 35,000 to 50,000 go up to 4 installments. Advance at least 40%. From 50,000 to 80,000 go up to 5 installments. Advance at least 30% (widespread scheme, Sep 2026).
Pages about 12, 24 and 36 installments exist. Without a single concrete figure (checked Sep 2026). An installment without a total means nothing. Illustration example. A €600 site in 3 parts gives 3 times €200. That is arithmetic, not an offer. Always ask the total first. The installment derives, it never prices. Payment runs through the company account.
Why does almost nobody offer 12–36 installments?
Long repayments carry three risks for the developer. Collection after launch depends on goodwill. Domain and hosting ownership hangs while debt lasts. Site transfer blocks until payoff. So a serious studio openly states one thing. It generally refuses installments (honest practice, Sep 2026). Splitting in two makes sense for both sides. An honest answer beats fake flexibility.
A fair compromise exists. Three installments for bigger projects. Advance, middle after demo, rest before launch. Every part tied to a visible result. So nobody pays upfront for the unseen. Nobody works free.
Advance: do you lose it if you quit?
It depends what stands written before payment. A studio stating rules publicly keeps the advance. On quitting (common term, Sep 2026). Except in extraordinary situations. That is fair if written upfront. Only silent keeping is unfair. Ask for a proforma or receipt for every payment. Without paper there is no proof.
Check three things before advancing. Whether a company account or registered business exists. What exactly the advance covers. Under which terms it returns. Answers go in writing. A spoken deal equals memory.
What does a fair deal look like?
A fair deal has five points. Fixed total price. Installment plan with dates. Demo before the rest. Domain in your name from the start. Launch deadline. All in writing before the first payment. Our standard is 50/50, 3 installments for bigger packages. Preview always before the remaining payment.
Do the first step tomorrow. Sum the budget you hold now. Split the total into two parts. If the second part hurts, ask for a third. Send an inquiry through contact — we quote exact installments within 24h. Our pricelist shows packages that carry installments.
